Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a form of manual therapy that focuses on the relationship between the structure of the body and the way it functions. It is based on the principle that the health of an individual depends on their muscles, bones, ligaments and connective tissues functioning in cohesion. Manual Osteopathic practitioners use a range of techniques, including physical mobilization, massage and stretching, to assess and treat various musculoskeletal conditions and improve overall health and wellbeing. The goal of these treatments include relief from muscle tension, increased mobility of joints, promote healing from injury as well as injury prevention, correcting posture by realigning the body and improving mental health. Acupuncture
Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin needles through your skin at strategic points on your body known as acupuncture points. Practitioners view these points as places to stimulate nerves, muscles and connective tissue. Acupuncture is most commonly used to treat pain by boosting your body’s natural painkillers. Increasingly, it is being used for overall wellness, including stress management, migraines, menstrual cramps, tennis elbow, PTSD and a variety of other conditions
Fertility Acupuncture
Fertility acupuncture is a form of traditional Chinese medicine that involves the insertion of fine needles into specific points on the body to help regulate hormones, improve blood flow to the reproductive organs, and reduce stress. It helps enhance ovarian and follicular function in women and improve sperm quality in men. By promoting balance in the body's energy (or "Qi") and supporting overall reproductive health, acupuncture is often used alongside conventional fertility treatments like IVF/IUI to boost their effectiveness.
Athletic Therapy
Athletic Therapy (AT) is a healthcare profession that blends the latest evidence-based research with hands-on clinical experience. Certified Athletic Therapists are highly trained on injury prevention, assessment, and management, and treatment of injuries related to physical activity, sports, and posture. AT’s work with individuals of all ages and abilities to help them recover from injuries, prevent future injuries, improve their over all athletic performance and work. At Osteo+ our Athletic Therapist specializes in the prevention, assessment, and management of musculoskeletal injuries, as well as postural imbalances, posture correction, and corrective/supportive taping.
Massage Therapy
Massage Therapy, also know as Soft Tissue Therapy is techniques performed by a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) that involves the use of therapeutic touch and manual techniques to help relieve pain, relax muscles, and improve physical function. Soft tissue work may be classified into three categories, Soft tissue mobilizations or manipulations, acupressure, and stretching techniques. Soft Tissue Therapy is simply defined as the manual manipulation of soft tissue administered for the purpose of producing effects on the nervous, muscular, fascial, lymphatic, and circulatory systems to create numerous benefits.
Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage Massage
This treatment is a gentle yet vigorous massage that can provide several benefits such as reducing excess fluid retention, digestion support, and whisking away toxins all while accentuating your body's natural curves. This treatment is NOT covered under insurance!
Therapeutic Sports Massage
Kamal treats patients from infants to seniors, her treatment style will vary catering to the patient.
During her sports based treatments, you can expect deep tissue work, myofascial release work, stretching, and extensive trigger point therapy. There will be no sheets, bring in shorts, tank top, or a sports bra.
TMJ/TMD Treatment
This treatment consist of intra-oral and extra oral massage of the TMJ. The TMJ can cause headaches, tinnitus/ringing in ears, hearing loss, sleep apnea/issues, clicking of the joint, numbness in face, and the list goes on.
Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathic medicine uses a holistic approach to healthcare that emphasizes the body's inherent ability to heal itself. Naturopathic Doctors are trained as primary care providers, diagnosing and treating patients using a blend of evidence-based medicine and traditional natural therapies. This form of medicine focuses on disease prevention, patient education and minimally invasive treatments. Pre/Post Natal Massage
Pre/post natal massage therapy consists of light manual techniques performed by a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) to help relax muscles, relieve pain, swelling, fatigue and sciatica. Prenatal massage is performed during pregnancy, and helps promote healthy fetal development. Post natal massage therapy is soft tissue therapy performed after pregnancy for up to 1 year
Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST)
Fascial therapy is a specialized form of treatment that focuses on the body's fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds muscles, organs, and nerves. By using targeted techniques such as gentle stretching, pressure, and movement, this therapy helps to release tension, improve mobility, and alleviate pain. It's ideal for anyone experiencing chronic pain, athletes seeking to enhance performance, or individuals looking to improve their overall well-being. For a session, wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing to allow for easy movement and access to the areas being treated!
